On October 7, 2005, while doing my Bible study, I realized I was supposed to paint the cover of my book. Dorothy insisted I could paint it.
“I want it to be beautiful. You will have to help me.”
I feel inadequate.
Our church service blew me away. We sang a song from Mom’s funeral, and the words were displayed against a background of rolling clouds. I cried.
“They sang this song at Granny's funeral,” I said to Lauren.
“Why did you tell me that?”
She turned in the pew, facing away from me.
The overhead screen also displayed a blue backdrop with a man's shadowy figure with his hands raised towards the sky. It reminded me of seeing Jesus in the clouds.
Our pastor discussed how God revealed Himself to Moses through the burning bush.
“Who knew God was going to show up in the burning bush? God was at work, and He had a plan. Sometimes His call stretches us. What is it God wants you to do?”
Moses felt inadequate for the Lord’s task. The Lord told him He would give evidence that He sent him and told him, “You just go.”
He spoke about how the Lord brings us to a crisis of belief and two things we must do. The first step is to have faith, and the second is to say “yes” and for there to be action. So, instead of asking God if there is someone else, obey because He said, “I called you.”
